Mount Elizabeth Novena Maternity Tour
We decided to go ahead with this maternity tour instead of cancelling it because we would like to deliver in this hospital next time.
At 1030am, we were greeted and welcomed warmly by Patricia at the front concierge.
First impressions of the hospital was posh, spacious, quiet and hotel-ish indeed.
Looks like 5 stars boutique hotel and extremely luxurious (smells good too).
We were given some information booklet at the 'Stemcord' waiting room before being led up to the delivery suites at Level 3. It was a small group this morning, 3 couples.
Waiting area for friends and family who are waiting to see the baby..its a huge and spacious area, didn't manage to capture the entire space.
Delivery suite: with a comfy sofa bed for the husband, clean and bright space.
Incase of c-sect, the operating theatre is just across this suite.
After delivering, the nurses will wheel you up to Level 9, thats where you will rest and recovery till the day you check out. Here at Mount Elizabeth Novena, they only have single rooms. Their package includes Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries, free WIFI and local calls, tv, in-room meals, drinks for visitors, husband-stay/meals, free parking, complimentary massage, antenatal classes (bathing, breastfeeding etc) during your stay.
Below are a few photos of the maternity ward:
Complimentary drinks for visitors and tea for husband/family.
The very-quiet concierge/nurses station. Heard there are only 10 mothers today.
Visited the nursery, there were only 5 babies, some could be in the room with their mothers.
Spacious and not overcrowded.
They charge $34 a day for the UV beds, if your baby have jaundice.
Breastpump machine rental is chargeable at $32 for the entire length of your stay.
These 2 are not part of the package.
Junior suites are located at the Penthouse level, 13th storey (highest level).
As you can see, its huge!
With en-suite toilet, balcony and a living room.
Mind-blown.
We were invited to have some snacks and Q&A session after the ward tour.
Got to choose some baby socks as a free gift from 'Stemcord' and also a goodie bag from Mount Elizabeth Novena. Thumbs up for the eye-opening maternity tour! I'm so proud that Singapore have such wonderful hospitals and they really strive to make your stay here a pleasant one.

But i advise you to use theirs, why bother with doing laundry after you get home (:

Skizzors for Hair // Mucota Dyna Argan Oil hair treatment - Review
Decided to snip off 5inches of my hair yesterday.
I'm so done with the weight and drying process after shower.
Irene from Skizzors did my haircut and her assistant did the Mucota Dyna Argan Oil hair treatment for me.
It's suitable for people who have rebonded their hair before or for those with unruly frizzy hair
You get straighter hair after this treatment without damaging your hair like what rebounding does.
Took about 3 hours and costs slightly less than $280.
Quite pleased with the haircut and end results (:
Hair is super manageable and lightweight now.
At Skizzors, they offer free welcome drink and also if you enquiry, they do have packages which should last you a year or more depending on your budget.
The 2 Mucota home care products i use after all my hair treatments.
On the left is Mucota Aire Dune Ex Shampoo, Extra Moisture CMC 18MEA.
Its for unruly hair/rough hair.
Smells really nice and makes my hair smooth.
Right of the photo is the Mucota Aire Veil for Straight 10.
Its an oil-based cream type for after shower.
Pump a little bit on your hands and run it through your hair, non-rinse-out type of hair treatment.
It prevents the hair from damage like heat of a dryer and UV rays and gives it ruly touch and texture with a moist shine.
Love love love this product.
Pricey but worth it!

Not sure why i had a tummy rash last night.
Maybe too heaty from all the longan and red dates drink?
That scar on the right is a chickenpox scar from my childhood.

Harvey Norman Power of Love Challenge
I signed us up for the event to see if we could possibly win $10,000 worth of prizes for our new house.
Our first ever couple game challenge.
We advanced to the 4th round with 24 other couples.
Till i messed up the Q&A section. Haha!
I must say the games were challenging though simple.
Emerged as top 25 couples!
Sorry i gave a stupid answer for 1 question. Well, at least we got the rest right (:
Though we only walked away with a $10 voucher, i think we both had fun at the event.

Tatcha Unboxing & First Impressions
If you can tell from the photo, they missed out on 1 of my free sample.
Every order comes with 3 samples. A bit unhappy with that cause it aint difficult packing my small order! Plus i shipped via Vpost, so if they wanna send me what's missing, i may have to pay additional for shipping. And that, sucks. I was looking forward to sampling them so i can buy the full sized next time. Oh wells.
Marcus bought me the full sized classic rice enzyme powder, dewy skin mist and lip balm. The rest were given as free samples. With shipping charges, this order cost about SGD170.
He also got me the Love Bonito Tarilyn Top and Lang leav's Lullabies as monthsary presents (:
Shall review the skincare once i get started on it.

Phua Soo Mear review
2 week post D&C update:
Did an ultrasound yesterday at Dr Phua's to confirm everything was well.
Weighing 42kg, i'm glad my weight is slowly picking up.
Next step is to wait for period.
Prior to this pregnancy, i was visiting Dr Kowa at Mount E regularly.
He monitors my PCOS condition and i'm fond of his service, friendliness and medical knowledge.
Only downside was the waiting time in his clinic despite having made an appointment.
Dr Kowa's consultation rates ($90), ultrasound ($90) and medicine were on the higher end.
His clinic is huge and he gives very clear ultrasound photos.
Personality wise, he is very kind-spirited, gentle, encouraging and wears a smile all the time.
He gives a lot of information without me asking and never rushes through an appointment.
Dr Kowa wears very lovely bow-ties if you are a fashionista. Haha!
We visited Dr Phua to confirm my pregnancy out of convenience.
He's located very near kovan mrt and its just 5 bus stops away from my place.
His consultation charges ($45 from 2nd consultation onwards), ultrasound etc were about half of Dr Kowa's.
Personality wise, he appeared to be gentle and soft-spoken.
But he is the type of doctor you have to keep probing for answers because he won't tell you much unless you ask.
Or maybe all doctors are like that, they don't acknowledge the foetus unless it hits the second trimester. And sounded nonchalant on every visit.
Waiting time is bearable. It's a decent sized clinic, but just not much privacy when conversations are exchanged. Technology wise, i think its comparable to Dr Kowa's.
I would think he did a good job on the procedure at Thomson Medical Centre.
He charged me $520 for D&C and the anaesthetist fee was $300.
The rest of the bill was covered by medisave.
This miscarriage is costly, no doubt.
Lovely dinner hosted by Keh and Dorothy, who prayed along with us, assured, comforted, guided, encouraged us through God's words. They are like family, role models and mentors to us. Always sharing what God can do in our lives, reminding us of God's love and power. Thank you for being such a blessing to us. I pray God continue to use both of you mightily to bless others and for you both to receive greater blessings from Him who loves beyond.

Been bumping up on ginger, calcium and folic intake.
Mainly from broccoli, spinach, peppers, yoghurt, milk, wholemeal bread, avocado, banana, payaya and loading up on green juices.
Mainly from broccoli, spinach, peppers, yoghurt, milk, wholemeal bread, avocado, banana, payaya and loading up on green juices.
This is my tummy back to its original size.
I really want to eat well and gain some healthy weight till my next pregnancy, this shall be my personal conviction.
So far, the bleeding has stopped though i think i get backaches quite frequently.
Just gotta rest more.
Happy 8th wedding monthsary bb bear! <3>3>
