Janie & Jack review
Carters, Gap baby, Mothercare, The Little White Company are some of the common brands we shop for our babies and toddlers.
But i must say Janie and Jack have really outdone themselves.
This is the quilted bow jumper in size 0-3 months i got for buttercup's baby dedication/full month.
It is crafted in soft blended cotton, fully lined with snap closure at the back.
I absolutely love how luxurious this tiny piece is, it is so well made!
The shade is perfect, the pleats are super neat and the bow completes the entire look.
I have decided to pair this quality piece with Freshly Picked baby moccasins and suede bow.
The husband will probably flip knowing it cost USD27.99 (sales price) but like i've said, she will only be this teeny tiny once in her life. I want to dress her up till she no longer needs me to dress her (:
I'm 35 weeks.
Been sleeping rather poorly due to backaches and continuous coughing at night.
And lack of quality sleep means grumpy old me.
Marcus came home with a bunch of roses to cheer me up.
He has been tenderly loving me through all these hormonal changes and i can't be more thankful to have him as my husband.
He is truly one of the greatest gift from God.
Thank you B!
Many times i got really mad with my nonsensical mother and he was the one who calmed me down.
My mother don't give face with it comes to arguing with a pregnant woman.
She expects us to accommodate to her (which is fine if reasonable) but she have double standards with almost everything else.
Most of the time, she will threaten or end the fight with: "this is my house i can do whatever i want".
It is greatly irresponsible to say things like that to your adult daughters though it is technically true.
We didn't ask to be born for one, and the fact you are a grown up, why say this kind of senseless things to your offsprings? We are your family.
And her vulgarities are expanding well beyond the loci. That, i really dislike and have zero tolerance for. My patience/grace has ran out for her. Hormones or not, i do wish i have a loving and gentle mother whom i can have edifying/intelligent conversions with.
Glad i am moving out mid 2016.

Hand me downs
We have received several bags of preloved baby clothes and we are so thankful.
Threw out some and kept some.
Space is a luxury we aint got.
Loving most of the items from Amy.
My fav being the H&M dress and Winnie The Pooh items.
The bibs and baby booties are adorbs too!!
Thank you for gifting the swaddles (:
Some preloved clothes from Adela and new pillow, toy, cotton balls for buttercup.
The above items from Jelissa which I sort by sizes.
Those that were super worn out, or sample diapers with manufacturing dates more than 1 year ago, we threw them away.
Don't see the point of wasting more water and detergent washing them "clean".
Poop, vomit and fungal yellow spots are extremely stubborn stains which i cannot be bothered to deal with.
You might say "they are just clothes", doesn't matter if its stained, spotting or old.
I suppose some preemie or newborn sizes will be put away after the first month.
More items to destash the moment she outgrows them.
Any takers after April?
Can't wait to dress her up in those cute outfits we got for her though (:
But i heard babies only puke on new clothes. Gees.
35 week bump; my skin is looking really taut and shiny.

Antenatal Lesson 6: baby care
We can finally have our Friday nights back.
I took the opportunity to submit my pre-admission form at the concierge as well.
Yesterday was the final lesson at Mount A.
Vegetarian beehoon was served during break.
We learnt how to change diaper/clothes, shower, clean, hold the baby, and simple massage techniques to ease a colicky baby. To learn the full techniques, you have to sign up for "real lessons" at the Parentcraft centre. They give one free session during your hospital stay but if you can't make it then you can always come back another day.
Just 5 weeks to go!

week 34
Cutest ultrasound of Buttercup ever!
She's lying on her left side, thats her fist and knees on the top.
First time we have her entirely in a photo since 2nd trimester (:
I've hit the 50kg mark! Woohoooo!!
And she's approximately 1.8kg.
Poon said there's a good amount of fluid and everything's looking good for natural delivery.
Next checkup is 2 weeks from now.
Check out my linea nigra haha
I noticed my aerola turning a lot darker too, it used to be pink.
But good news, i heard it won't stay that shade forever.
Hormones are powerful!

Baby World Fair 2016 & Antenatal Lesson 5: breastfeeding
Well, i didn't make it for the Mothercare sales because i decided the discount wouldn't be worth the queuing time. Plus, many mummies were complaining about it. Lack of restock, lack of organisation, 4 hours queue time and then another 1 hour queue to pay etc.
So we headed for expo today and much to my surprise, they cleared the goodie bags queue within 15mins. Everything was organised and timely, the way most of us would appreciate. Thumbs up organisers!
In the goodie bag, there were Mustela baby samples, Medela cream, Huggies diaper, javalocks, Dr Brown milk bottle, a full pack of korean wet wipes and some other knick-knacks. Super happy with those (:
I got Nuk detergent/refill because i am so in love with the scent, more detergent and bottle cleansers from K-mom, Cloversoft organic wet wipes 6 packs for $18, a cool-me towel $5, Annee Matthew nursing bras 2 for $39.90, Moo Moo Kow swim diaper $10, bamboo wash cloths 12 for $35 and Mustela firming gel $35 in preparation for postpartum recovery.
The important stuffs like breast pump, steriliser, newborn diapers, cot, stroller were purchased last October during Mummy's Market.
Video link to my huge haul here.
Also, i got Freshly Picked baby moccasins and H&M baby socks this week simply because i have to! Its too cute!!
How can anyone resist those :b
Having said that, i am really really thankful Marcus have not once questioned my purchases and he willingly paid for everything. Everything meaning baby stuffs, shopping, gynae visits and delivery/hospital fees etc. Never once did he pressurised me to return to the finance industry but he always gently encourage me to take Oat To Joy further. Even when i can't do deliveries, meet customers or replenish my baking supplies, he does it on my behalf, on top of his own work.
His money is hard-earned and we have survived well beyond a single family income the last 1.5 years. I married a responsible man who loves God. What else do I lack? Nothing. My heart is full. Help me to love this man more (:
I am thankful for His provision in this season of surrendering and just committing everything we care to Him. He hears, He answers in His own perfect timing, according to His will.
----
I am currently in week 33, i don't see any signs of water retention. Praise the Lord!
If anything, i am seeing more veins on my hands and feet.
Pregnancy has been smooth sailing so far. I don't have to worry about GD or being anaemic.
Started packing my hospital bag, making space for baby cot in my room.
Just been nesting a lot.
Today during antenatal class, we learnt about breastfeeding.
Position, posture, persevere.
Informative i must say. Gonna invest in some cabbage for standby.
Next Friday will be our final lesson; baby care.

Baby Shower
My good friends have generously and lovingly prepared a baby shower for us to celebrate the entering of motherhood.
Cake's from Cakedaysbakery.
Bamboo cake topping is from Strangelyyours.
A little disappointed at Celine's cream cheese. Tasted more like cheap icing.
Her macarons were super yummeh tho!
But the cake did its job of completing the high-tea table (:
Love the set up by Amber and Jenalyn!
It's actually what i have in mind for any sort of party.
So much effort put together for this celebration and I'm really blessed.
Hope to do the same for them when their turn comes (:
They prepared some games too which was super innovative and entertaining!
Faith and myself sat down to watch haha.
Carlsberg in a bottle: the gentlemen had to down it as quickly as possible.
Else, there is a penalty "prize" for being the slowest.
My husband lost haha, he doesn't drink so :b
What a loving afternoon spent with them; great company, food and games.
Faith is 3 weeks ahead of me in terms of gestation.
Which means, she is due anytime this month or early Feb.
I have well, 50 days or so to go.
And to my growing bump, please continue to grow from strength to strength!
Will update again this weekend on Mothercare VIP sale, Baby World 2016 and Antenatal Class 5.

Alvernia Ladies Card & Antenatal Lesson 4: labor
Finally got round to collecting my Mount Alvernia Ladies Card.
Its free for SG50 parents so i kinda "missed" the deal and paid $64 for the membership.
For benefits and privileges, click here.
Valid for 2 years, I think its worth it.
The photo shows some freebies given when you sign up.
Bolsters have "I am an Alvernia baby" printed on it.
Too cute (:
33 weeks bump shot.
Buttercup hiccups an avg of 5 times a day.
Its normal for her to get "squirmish" in my belly when Sky barks or when there are commotion outside my bedroom.
We caught Ip Man 3 last night, and i was trying to cover my belly because she was "kufung-fighting" the entire show.
Same old refreshments for the past 3 lessons.
Getting sick of it.
Yesterday, the staff shared on what to expect during labour and what we should do/bring.
Of course we didn't get to go home without watching a graphic birth video haha
They make it look all too easy.
Push and baby slides out. Really?
It was delivery ward and room tour after that.
St Michael's Room 272 was available so we popped in for a quick visit.
Its small, white and new as compared to their other single suites.
I'd be lucky to get a room in the St Michael's ward.
Last 2 lessons and my trips to Mount A will be over till buttercup is ready to meet us (:
